My story begins at a crossroads, faced with the challenge of teenage pregnancy amidst personal turmoil. At 16, expecting my daughter Hazel, I was determined to build a future for us. My family life was complicated, as i grew up surrounded by addiction and even experienced foster care. But when I discovered I was pregnant, I knew I wanted to keep my baby and make a change.

I found a beacon of hope at St. Gerard Campus. From the moment I stepped in for my intake, they welcomed me with open arms and warmth. They didn’t just see a teenage girl in a tough spot; they saw potential and strength. Their kindness was palpable, and the first gift they gave me for Hazel, a soft yellow blanket, became a cherished symbol of a new beginning.

St. Gerard wasn’t just a pregnancy resource center; it was my safe haven and my school. With their support, I channeled my determination into my studies, graduating as valedictorian two years early, while eight months pregnant. This achievement wasn’t just for me—it was for Hazel, ensuring I could give her my undivided attention when she arrived and setting us on a path to success.

Life continued to blossom from there. I married my childhood friend, Dylan, and we recently celebrated the arrival of our second joy, Theo, born at home. I’m now pursuing my passion as a midwifery student, inspired by my journey and the care I received.

As Hazel steps into kindergarten, I reflect on how far we’ve come. St. Gerard Campus was more than a resource; it was the foundation of our family’s story, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
