Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and energetic Daycare Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for children and a strong understanding of early childhood development. As a Daycare Worker, you will be responsible for the well-being, safety, and development of the children in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Child Supervision and Care:
- Supervise and monitor the safety of children in your care.
- Ensure children are always in a safe and nurturing environment.
- Assist children with daily routines such as feeding, dressing, and diapering.
- Educational Activities:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development.
- Read to children and teach them simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs.
- Encourage language development and self-expression through conversation and storytelling.
- Health and Safety:
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized environment.
- Follow health and safety guidelines as established by the center.
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and manage emergency situations calmly and effectively.
- Communication:
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians about their child’s daily activities, behaviors, and progress.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a positive, cohesive environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in early childhood education is a plus.
- Previous experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting plus but not required.
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
