We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic high school lead teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate
should have a strong academic background in their subject matter and should be passionate about teaching students
and helping them achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the classroom,
keeping track of the teacher’s assignments, and assisting students to keep track of their homework/project timelines.
The classroom lead teacher will also be a substitute teacher and tutor to support students at their different levels. The
classroom lead teacher will also maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment and communication with all
faculty and staff. This position will report to the Academic Director and Executive Director.
Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:
- Support teachers in organizing curriculum, copying, and assisting students with organizing their assignments and
due dates. - Collaborate with teachers to recognize issues students are facing and recommend solutions.
- Provide regular feedback to students on their academic performance and progress and offer support to help
them improve their skills and understanding of the subject matter curriculum. - Maintain a safe & clean orderly, and positive classroom environment that fosters academic excellence and
promotes student engagement and participation. - Develop schemes of tutoring and educational support alongside students and teachers.
- Work with the Academic and Executive Director to develop individual educational plans for given students.
- Proctor and implement accommodations for exceptional needs students.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student’s progress and development.
- Implement and monitor strategies for students’ improved executive function (schedules, agendas, homework
tracking) - Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies, and school
regulations. - Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress
and student needs. - Oversee students during non-classroom times including in between classes, during lunch, and on field trips.
Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following
- Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain information for parents when requested, promptly
return phone calls, and answer emails. - Participate in appropriate professional development.
- Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student
organizations as directed. - Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Able to work from 8:30am – 3pm Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 2PM on Friday
- Teaching certification or licensure preferred, not required.
- Strong subject matter knowledge.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
